Overview - Differential

Always replace both differential bearings together.
Adjustments are required when replacing components marked with ¹⁾ . Refer to FINAL DRIVE, ADJUSTING .

Transmission Housing ¹⁾
Shim "S ₂ "
- Pay attention to the thickness
- When replacing the differential bearing, the thickness must be determined again. Refer to FINAL DRIVE, ADJUSTING .
Tapered Roller Bearing Outer Race ¹⁾
- Removing. Refer to Figure.
- Installing. Refer to Figure.
Tapered Roller Bearing Inner Race ¹⁾
- Removing. Refer to Figure.
- Installing. Refer to Figure.
Differential with Ring Gear ¹⁾
- The ring gear cannot be removed from the differential.
- The differential bevel gears cannot be replaced.
Angular Contact Ball Bearing Inner Race ¹⁾
- Removing. Refer to Figure.
- Installing. Refer to Figure.
Angular Contact Ball Bearing Outer Race ¹⁾
- Removing. Refer to Figure and Figure.
- Installing. Refer to Figure.
Shim "S ₁ "
- Pay attention to the thickness
- If the differential bearing or the cover for the front final drive is replaced -Item : Final Drive Cover, the thickness must be determined again. Refer to FINAL DRIVE, ADJUSTING .
Final Drive Cover ¹⁾
- When replacing, the shim "S₁ " must be determined again. Refer to FINAL DRIVE COVER, REPLACING .
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Figure.
