ADDITIONAL WORK FOR VEHICLES WITH "quattro ultra"
- This additional work is only performed if the All-Wheel Drive Control Module -J492- or the rear final drive 0B0 "quattro ultra" or 09R "quattro ultra" is replaced.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
Tip:
- If the All-Wheel Drive Control Module -J492- should be replaced, the >>clutch adaptation values<< for the old control module must be read out using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester before removing.
- These >>clutch adaptation values<< must be transferred to the new control module.
- If the >>clutch adaptation values<< can no longer be read out, the ATF must be replaced and the >>all-wheel drive clutch classification<< must be entered into the new control module.
- The "classification" is on the all-wheel drive clutch. Refer to ALL-WHEEL DRIVE CLUTCH IDENTIFICATION, 0CJ OR 0CX .
-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester and switch on the ignition.
If the control module was replaced:
-- On the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester, select the function 22 - Replace control module under Guided Functions in the directory 22 - AWD electronics .
-- Start the selected program and follow the instructions in the display of the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
- Follow all the instructions given by the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester exactly.
If the rear final drive was replaced:
-- On the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester select the function 22 - Control Module, Replacing under Guided Functions in the directory 22 - Rear Final Drive, Replacing .
-- Start the selected program and follow the instructions in the display of the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
- Follow all the instructions given by the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester exactly.
