Brake Pads, Removing And Installing, 1LC/1LD/1LE/1LF/1LH: Removing
Label the brake pads when removing if they are going to be used again. Install in the same position, otherwise the braking effect will be uneven.
-- Remove the affected front wheel. Refer to Wheels and Tires .
-- Disconnect the connector for the brake pad wear indicator sensor contact from the brake caliper.
-- Loosen the brake hose -1- from the bracket -2- to do so remove the clamp on the brake hose.
Do not loosen the brake hose from the brake caliper
-- Remove the bolts -1- for the brake caliper.
-- Remove the brake caliper.
-- Hang the brake caliper on the body using a suitable wire.
Risk of damaging the brake hose, brake line and brake piston.
- Do not let the brake caliper hang on the brake hose. Do not support the weight with the brake hose.
- Replace the brake hose if damaged.
- The brake line must not be bent.
- A damaged brake line must be replaced.
- Do not press the brake pedal when the brake caliper is removed.
- Do not operate the parking brake when the rear brake caliper is removed.
- A damaged brake piston must be replaced.
-- Press both brake pistons out of the corresponding guide in the brake piston.
From this the tension in the clamp -1 image A- is released.
-- Remove the clamp -image A: 1- with suitable pliers from the brake caliper, while holding down the brake pads at the same time.
Remove the brake pads -image B: 2- from the brake caliper.
