Brake Pad Wear Indicator Wire, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the front wheel. Refer to WHEEL, CHANGING .

-- Disconnect the connector -2-.

-- Release the tab in direction of -arrow A- and turn 90° in direction of -arrow B- at the same time. Then remove and free up the brake pad wear sensor -1- from the bracket.

Vehicles with Steel Brakes 1LC/1LD/1LE/1LF/1LG/1LH:

-- Remove the brake caliper. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STEEL BRAKES 1LC/1LD/1LE/1LF/1LG/1LH .

-- Free up the electrical wire.

-- Remove the contact -1- for the brake pad wear indicator from the brake pad, while being careful of the clips -2-.

Vehicles with Steel Brakes 1LJ/1LL/1LM/1LY/1LZ/1ZA/1ZC/1ZK/1ZX:

-- Free up the wire by opening the protective cap -3- and disengage the wire from the brake caliper -arrows-.

-- Remove the contact -1- for the brake pad wear indicator from the brake pad, while being careful of the clips -2-.

-- Free up the wire -1- by opening the protective cap -3- and guiding the wire out at the bracket -2- and the brake caliper -arrow-.

-- Using pliers, remove the brake pad wear indicator contacts -1 and 2- from the brake pads; pay attention to the retainers while doing so.
