Side Windshield Frame Trim, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:
Risk of injury due to flying metal shavings.
Irritation and injury to skin and eyes possible.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Wear safety gloves.
-- Drill out the pop rivets -arrows-, drive out the rivet shaft and remove the clip -2-.
- Make sure there are no leftover pieces of the removed pop rivet.
-- Remove the clips.
-- When riveting the clip, make sure that the arrow -3- faces the outside.
- The vehicle and the clip must be at room temperature.
- The adhesive surfaces must be free of dirt and grease.
-- Remove the adhesive residue from the body.
-- Clean the adhesive surface with Cleaning Solution: D 009 401 04 and let dry.
-- Insert the clip -5- in the trim for the side windshield frame -4- in the position shown.
-- Remove the protective film from adhesive tape.
-- Guide the trim for the side windshield frame in the rear clip and push on the upper clips until it engages.
- Push the bonded clamp on the window frame.
- Resting time approximately 30 minutes at room temperature
