Window Regulator, Removing And Installing, A4 Market-Specific: Removing

-- Remove the inner window shaft strip. Refer to INNER WINDOW SHAFT STRIP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, A4 .

-- Remove the window regulator motor. Refer to WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, A4 AND A5 SPORTBACK .

-- Remove the door inner cover. Refer to DOOR INNER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the plugs -5-.

-- Move the door window -4- downward until the driver catch -3- is flush with the opening in the window regulator -2-.

-- Release the catch through the opening and through the hole in the door window in direction of -arrow- using a screwdriver -1- for example, and at the same time, remove the door window upward from the driver.

-- Pull the door window upward and secure to protect from falling down with adhesive tape.

-- Release the retainers -1 and 3- on the window regulator threaded pins -2- using an 11 mm socket. To do so, slide the socket onto the threaded pin.

-- Unclip the window regulator cable guide.

-- Remove the caps -arrows-.

-- Loosen the upper nuts -3- three turns, and remove the lower nuts -1 and 4-.

-- Pull the window regulator -2- toward the rear and out of the door inner cover opening.
