Undamaged Side Window, Removing, A5 Coupe

• Pay attention to the repair information. Refer to REPAIR INFORMATION .
• Push in the vehicle interior between the cutting wire and trim panels from the cutting guard from the : VAS681 001A  .

Procedure 

-- Remove the front roof trim molding. Refer to ROOF TRIM MOLDING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the inner door seal near the side window. Refer to INNER DOOR SEAL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, A5 COUPE .

-- Insert the : VAS861001/1A  in the piercing awl -1-.

TIP:

To prevent any damage, cover the area where the piercing awl comes out at the body flange with adhesive tape.

-- Press the piercing awl in this area from the outside inward through the adhesive bead and preform the separation cut toward the inside.

-- Place the : VAS861001/1A  all around under the side window and secure on the end of the striker -2-.

TIP:

Slightly lift the molding using the trim removal wedge from the : VAS861001A  .

-- Secure the upper side window using adhesive tape -1-.

-- Secure the removal device using the reel device -1- on the inside of the window.

-- Insert the : VAS861001/1A  in the reel device in direction of -arrow-.

-- Tension the cutting cord with the reel device.

-- Insert the cutting guard -1- from the : VAS861001A  for protection between the : VAS861001/1A  and the inner door seal bracket -2-.

-- Cut the first section free. This will guide the cutting wire into the integrated idler roller on the reel device -3-.

-- Move the removal device -3- and cut free the area along the C-pillar upward.

-- Leave the cutting guard -1- between the : VAS861001/1A  and the inner door seal bracket -2-.

-- Push in an additional cut out protection between the C-pillar trim panel and the headliner.

-- Move the removal device -3- and cut free the area of the B-pillar.

-- Leave the cutting guard -1- between the : VAS861001/1A  and the inner door seal bracket -2-.

-- Remove the side window from the side window frame.

-- Remove the separated centering pin from the securing hole.
