Backrest Bolster Adjuster, Leak Test Preparation Work
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Vehicle Diagnostic Tester
- Digital Pressure Sensor: VAG1397B
- Pneumatic Repair Set: VAS6618A
When an appropriate entry is made in the event memory, there is a prompt in "Guided Fault Finding" to perform a leak check. Refer to Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
Then the preparations for this leak test are described that must be carried out directly in the front seat.
Connection diagram with assignment of the pneumatic lines to the air cushions. Refer to CONNECTION DIAGRAM - PNEUMATIC SYSTEM .
Procedure
- The backrest cover is removed. Refer to BACKREST COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, SUPER-SPORT SEAT .
-- Before disconnecting, mark the allocation of the pneumatic lines to each other using a waterproof felt-tip pen.
-- Disconnect the pneumatic line -2- to the left backrest bolster adjuster air cushion at the following locations. Refer to PNEUMATIC LINES, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
- -b- = 200 mm
-- Using hose and adapter pieces from the : VAS6618 switch the : VAG1397A in the pneumatic line -1- to the left backrest bolster adjuster air cushion.
In one of the test steps in the "Guided Fault Finding" , there is a prompt to connect the pneumatic line -2- to the left backrest bolster adjuster with the right backrest bolster adjuster pneumatic line and to connect both pneumatic lines on the : VAS6618/10 .
-- Disconnect the pneumatic line -1- to the right backrest bolster adjuster air cushion at the following locations. Refer to PNEUMATIC LINES, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
- -a- = 200 mm
-- Connect the pneumatic line to the left and right backrest bolster adjuster using the lines and adapter pieces from the : VAS6618 and connect on the : VAS6618/10 .
In the next test step in "Guided Fault Finding" there is a prompt to seal the pneumatic line -2- to the left backrest bolster adjuster using hoses and adapter pieces from the : VAS6618 .
-- Using hose and adapter pieces from the : VAS6618 switch the : VAG1397A in the pneumatic line -1- to the right backrest bolster adjuster air cushion.
-- Connect the pneumatic lines following the leak test. Refer to PNEUMATIC LINES, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
