Lumbar Support Air Cushion, Removing And Installing: Removing
Risk of injury due to involuntary deployment.
- Pay attention to the safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING WITH PYROTECHNIC COMPONENTS .
- Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.
-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- For reinstallation, mark pneumatic lines at the separating point with a waterproof permanent marker.
-- Disconnect the pneumatic lines -1, 2 and 3- to the lumbar support air cushion at the following locations. Refer to PNEUMATIC LINES, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
- -a- = 100 mm
- -b- = 100 mm
- -c- = 100 mm
-- Remove the seat/backrest bolster adjuster valve block from the rubber mounting.
-- To do this, pull the rubber mounting along the length in direction of -arrow A- and remove the valve block at the same time in direction of -arrow B-.
-- Repeat the procedure on the remaining rubber mounts.
-- Free up the remaining pneumatic lines and move the seat/backrest bolster adjuster valve block to the side with the pneumatic lines connected.
-- Remove the backrest seat cover and cushion. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the screw -arrow A-.
-- Pivot the lower lumbar support toward the front from the backrest frame and disengage and remove from the top of the lumbar support -B arrows-.
