CONDITION
Workshop findings:
After carrying out a campaign, a software update of the Front Camera for Driver Assist Systems -R242- (address word 00A5), the following DTC symptom code is stored in the Front Camera for Driver Assist Systems -R242- (address word 00A5) statically:
- DTC U101400: Control module coded incorrectly (symptom code 646).
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
The workshop actions reset the coding of the front camera to its factory default value.
This DTC indicates that signals of the trailer control unit, the lane change assist, the adaptive cruise control, or another control unit are received although these control units are not installed from the factory. Another cause can be a deviating coding in other control units.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Not applicable.
SERVICE
Check if the vehicle is equipped with features and/or equipment that is not listed in the vehicle data as shown in Elsa.
For example, check if you can reach the trailer control module (address word 0069) in ODIS, even though according to Elsa, no trailer hitch is supposed to be installed.
Check the coding in all other control modules (for example, instrument cluster) and reset the coding via the "check control module configuration" test plan in ODIS if necessary.
Non-OEM modifications or installation of products not available via the Audi Genuine Accessories program are not supported and no help can be provided by Audi of America regarding those installations.
Please refer the customer to the third party who installed that modification for support.
