SERVICE INFORMATION

CONDITION

Customer states: 

No Bluetooth connection to the vehicle can be established.

Hands-free phone calls, Bluetooth audio player, Apple CarPlay do not work.

Workshop findings: 

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

Due to a software malfunction in Apple's iOS version 16.0.x, there are restrictions on the Bluetooth connection.

PRODUCTION SOLUTION

Not applicable.

SERVICE

No repair is available at this time.

  1. Do not perform any repairs. Any repairs for this concern may be denied.
  2. Instruct the customer that this condition is due to a software issue of the iPhone, and therefore cannot be repaired by Audi.
  3. Please ask the customer to check and install iOS updates on their iPhone at regular intervals

Workaround 

  1. Please ask the customer to delete the pairing to the vehicle on the phone, as well as in the MMI on the vehicle.
  2. Delete the phone pairing via the Connection Manager on the vehicle.
  3. Delete the phone pairing in the Bluetooth settings on the phone.
  4. Re-pair the phone by starting a search for Bluetooth devices from the phone  . Then select the correct Audi MMI and confirm the connection in the vehicle.
  5. The Bluetooth visibility may have to be enabled on the vehicle via the Bluetooth settings in the MMI's Connection Manager.

WARRANTY

This concern is due to a third-party system and is not covered by any Audi Warranty.
