CONDITION
Customer states:
- MIL on.
- The engine is running rough.
- There is oil on the engine near the oil filler cap.
Workshop findings:
The following DTC may be stored:
- P227900 - Intake Air System Leak.
- P006800 - MAP/MAF, Throttle Position Correlation.
- P050700 - Idle Control System RPM Higher than Expected.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
Possibly caused by an incorrectly installed oil filler cap.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Not applicable.
SERVICE
Remove and re-install the oil filler cap in the correct position. Before inserting the oil filler cap, thoroughly clean the contact surfaces of the cap and the filler neck.
If the oil filler cap is installed correctly, please work through the complaint using Guided Fault Finding.
