Rear Lid Motor 1 And 2 -V444- / -V445-, Removing And Installing, A5 SPORTBACK: Removing
-- Disconnect the battery ground cable when the ignition is turned on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Remove the C-pillar trim panel. Refer to C-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the rear roof grab handle. Refer to ROOF GRAB HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the D-pillar trim panel bracket. Refer to D-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.
Risk of injury.
- Discharge the static electricity: quickly touch the door striker.
-- Remove the bolt -2-.
-- Push the head curtain airbag -3- out of the mounts on the body -arrows- toward the rear and remove it.
-- Disconnect the connector -1- and free up the wiring harness -2-.
-- To prevent personal injuries or damaging the rear lid and/or the vehicle body, support the rear lid.
-- Lightly pry up the locking spring -5- using a small screwdriver and remove the spindle motor -3- from the ball pin on the body and the rear lid.
-- Remove the grommet -4- from the body.
-- Remove the wiring harness behind the mount -6- and guide through the body opening.
