Upper Steering Column Trim Panel, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove the instrument panel cover on the driver side. Refer to DRIVER SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the light switch trim. Refer to LIGHT SWITCH TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the bolt/expanding clip -1-.
-- Loosen the trim -2- with the A/C display control head using the :T10383/1 in the area of the gap cover -arrows-.
-- Move the steering wheel as far to the rear and down as possible. Use the full steering column adjustment range for this.
-- Using the :3409 , unclip the steering column trim panel gap cover -1- from the instrument panel vent in direction of -arrows-.
-- Turn the steering wheel counterclockwise 90° from the straight position.
-- Carefully pry out the upper steering column trim panel -2- from the lower steering column trim panel -1- in direction of -arrow- using a small flat-head screwdriver.
-- Turn the steering wheel back 180° and repeat the procedure on the opposite side.
-- Bring the steering wheel back into the center (wheels are straight).
-- Disengage the upper steering column trim panel from the lower steering column trim panel and remove.
