Height Adjustment, Checking, A5 Cabriolet
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Adhesive Tape
If the door window causes wind noise, the height adjustment must be checked.
- Adjustment dimensions. Refer to FRONT DOOR WINDOW, ADJUSTING .
-- Determine the measuring point on the door window:
- Dimension -a- = 20 mm, measured from the upper impression on the inner door seal -1-. Refer to ADJUSTMENT DIMENSION, A5 CABRIOLET - Dimension -c- = 20 mm, measured from the impression in the door seal .
- Dimension -b- = 20 mm, measured from the lower impression on the inner door seal -1-. Refer to ADJUSTMENT DIMENSION, A5 CABRIOLET - Dimension -d- = 20 mm, measured from the impression in the door seal .
- Dimension -c- = 100 mm, measured from the center of the side window seal -2-. Refer to ADJUSTMENT DIMENSION, A5 CABRIOLET - Dimension -j- = 100 mm, measured from the center of the side window seal .
-- Apply the adhesive tape to the measured points -1, 2 and 3-.
-- On the adhesive tape, mark reference lines -4, 5, and 6- from the door window upper edge.
- Dimension -e-. Refer to ADJUSTMENT DIMENSION, A5 CABRIOLET - Gap dimension -b- = 6.7 +1.5/ -1.0 mm .
- Dimension -b-. Refer to ADJUSTMENT DIMENSION, A5 CABRIOLET - Gap dimension -f- = 7.1 +1.5/ -1.0 mm .
- Dimension -j-. Refer to ADJUSTMENT DIMENSION, A5 CABRIOLET - Gap dimension -h- = 6.2 mm .
-- Close the door.
- The reference lines -1, 2 and 4- on the adhesive tape must align with the inner door seal lower edge -3-.
TIP:
The measurement of the window depth can be performed using the : T10391 at the measuring points.
-- Adjust the door window again if the first height adjustment is not OK. Refer to HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT .
