When extracting brake fluid, always use a bleeder bottle that is used exclusively for brake fluid. Brake fluid is poisonous, and must never be siphoned by mouth under any circumstances!

- Brake Shield
- Remove the brake rotor to remove.
Removing and installing. Refer to BRAKE SHIELD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
- Remove the brake rotor to remove.
- Bolt
- 18 Nm
- Spreader Spring
- Must sit in the brake piston
- Connector
- Remove from the bracket when replacing the brake pad
- Bolt
- 190 Nm
- Brake Carrier
- Bolt to wheel bearing housing
- Brake PadsNOTE:
The brake pad with spreader spring sits inside. The spreader spring must be inserted inside the brake piston.
The inner pad with the spreader spring for the brake piston is indicated with an arrow. The arrow must point in the rotation direction of the brake rotor when driving forward. Noises can result from incorrect installation.
- Always replace on both axles.
- Check the brake pad thickness. Refer to BRAKE PADS, CHECKING THICKNESS
& MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES (USA AND CANADA)NOTE:
Before inserting new brake pads, thoroughly clean the brake calipers of contaminants (grease-free). When doing so, pay particular attention to removing any remaining adhesive foil on outer brake pad contact surfaces.
Removing and installing. Refer to BRAKE PADS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
- Spring
- Before inserting the pads, clean the contact surfaces and apply a layer of Polycarbamide Grease :G 052 142 A2 .
- Insert in both holes of brake caliper housingNOTE:
The spring must be pressed under brake carrier after it is inserted in both holes. If improperly installed, the wear of the outer brake pad cannot be adjusted, thereby increasing brake pedal travel.
- Brake Rotor
- Wear limit. Refer to TECHNICAL DATA, BRAKES
- Always replace on both axles.
- Remove the brake caliper before removing
- Removing and installing. Refer to BRAKE ROTOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
- Bolt
- 5 Nm
- Brake Caliper
- To replace brake pads, unfasten from brake carrier
Removing and installing. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
Replacing. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER, REPLACING
- To replace brake pads, unfasten from brake carrier
- Guide Pin
- 30 Nm
- Cap
- Remove the guide pins to remove
- Insert the guide pins after installation
- Brake Hose
- Brake caliper side: 16 Nm
- Do not remove the brake hose when changing the brake pads.
- Install in the brake caliper housing
