Brake Pads, Removing And Installing, 1LJ, 1LL, 1ZA And 1ZC: Removing

-- Free up the wire for the brake pad wear indicator sensor contact -1-, to do so open the protective cap -3- and disengage the wire from the brake caliper -arrows-.

-- Remove the brake caliper.

CAUTION:

Do not bend the brake lines.

A damaged brake line must be replaced.

NOTE:

Label the brake pads when removing if they are going to be used again. Install in the same position, otherwise the braking effect will be uneven.

Pull out the brake pads -3 and 4- one after the other toward the center of the brake caliper.

-- Unclip the brake pad retaining plate -1-.

-- When the brake pads are being replaced, unclip the brake pad spring -2-.

NOTE:

Do not change the shape of the brake pad spring and brake pad retaining plate.

Damaged brake pad springs and brake pad retaining plates must be replaced.
