Brake Caliper, Replacing, 1LA/1LB: Installing
Clean bolts before reusing.
Replace the damaged bolts. Refer to the Parts Information.
-- Install the brake pads and screw the guide pins into the brake caliper. Refer to BRAKE PADS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 1LA/1LB

-- Insert the brake carrier with brake caliper and brake pads.
-- Tighten the brake carrier with bolts -5-.
Pay attention that the sealing surfaces for the brake hose on the brake hose and on the brake caliper are clean and free of rust.
-- Install the brake hose into the brake caliper and tighten.
-- Remove the :VAG1869/2 .
Only bleed the brakes on the wheel from which the brake caliper was removed and the brake line was loosened. If the brake pedal still feels "soft", completely bleed the brakes.
-- Bleed the brakes. Refer to HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, BLEEDING .
-- Install the wheels.
Wheel bolt tightening specification. Refer to Wheels and Tires .
After inserting the brake pads and before driving for the first time, press the brake pedal firmly several times while parked so that brake pads are properly seated in their corresponding operating position.
-- Check brake fluid level, and fill if necessary.
Make sure the brakes are working correctly before driving the vehicle for the first time.
