Tensioning the coil spring (AWD)

NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.

Clean coil spring to remove heavy contamination.
Attach the spring strut (1) to the coil spring with the special tool 2 318 833.
Make sure that the coils of the coil spring are completely in the recesses of the special tool 2 318 833.

Tension the coil spring until dimension (B) is reached at the special tool 0 493 556 (31 3 341).
Basic version: Dimension (B) = 65 mm

SPORT version: Dimension (B) = 25 mm

BMW M Performance Automobile variant: Dimension (B) = 25 mm
It is mandatory to ensure that the dimension (B) is not undershot.
