Install spring suspension strut

NOTE: Keep the connection of the spring strut holder to the spring strut clean and free from oil and grease.

Expand spring strut holder (1) with special tool 2 414 636.

Protecting the output shaft from damage with a towel is mandatory (2).

Align spring strut holder (1) using the gap on the reference mark on the spring strut.

Insert and position spring strut holder (1) on spring strut.

IMPORTANT: The spring strut holder (1) must be pushed up to the limit position on the spring strut!

Remove the special tool 2 414 636.

Remove towel (2).

Checking the installation position of the spring strut holder:

Check the installation position of the spring strut holder (1) for the spring strut (2).

IMPORTANT:

The spring strut holder (1) must be correctly aligned to the spring strut (2) on the basis of the color coding (3).

The color coding (3) runs according to the extension of the elevation (4).

Fasten the screw (2) into the spring strut holder (1) and tighten it (use a new screw).

Tightening torque, spring strut holder on front spring strut: joining torque 42 Nm, angle of rotation 90°.

Tighten the screw connection in the NORMAL POSITION .

Position spring strut holder on wishbone.

Install the bolt (2).

Tighten the nut (1) in the NORMAL POSITION .

Use new bolt and nut.

Tightening torque, bottom wishbone on spring strut holder: joining torque 165 Nm, angle of rotation 90°.

IMPORTANT: Tighten screw connection in NORMAL POSITION !

Fasten the stabilizer anti-roll bar link to the spring strut holder:

Position the stabilizer anti-roll bar link (2) to the spring strut holder.

Tighten nut (1).

NOTE: Counter-hold at the Torx socket.

Tightening torque, anti-roll bar link on anti-roll bar/spring strut (air suspension): 100 Nm (use a new nut)
