Removing the electrical machine electronics

NOTE: DANGER
High-voltage system.
The high-voltage system operates on the basis of hazardous, electrical voltage and high currents. Mortal hazard through electric shock!

All work on the high-voltage system may only be carried out by specially trained and technically experienced personnel.

Preliminary work

Connection overview for electrical machine electronics (EME)

Release screw (1) of the potential equalization line.
Release the screw (2) of the battery earth lead.
Unclip the battery ground lead.

Unlock and disconnect signal line connector (1).

Unclip the high-voltage cable (2) and unlock and disconnect the connector.
Release the screws (3) of the tension relief.

Unlock and disconnect the connector of the high-voltage cable (4).
Detach the rubber grommet of the high-voltage cable (4).
Loosen screws (1) and remove the tension relief upper section.

Loosen screws (2) and pull the connector of the high-voltage cable off straight upwards.

Partially removing the front power distribution box positive battery cable

Loosen the cover (1) and (2) at the detents.
Remove the cover (1) and (2) in an upwards direction.

Unscrew the nut (1) and unclip and feed out the corresponding cable.
Loosen the screw (2) and remove the terminal cover from the power distribution box (3).
Loosen the nut (3) and pull the terminal cover off the power distribution box (3).

» The power distribution box (3) can be shifted to install and de-install the electrical machine electronics.

Loosen screw (1).
Pull coolant line (2) on the electrical machine electronics off.
Pull coolant line (3) on the electrical machine electronics off.

Remove the cover for the fresh air inlet
Unlock the cover (1) for the fresh air inlet and remove.

Loosen screw (1).
Unclip covers (2) on the units compartment and release the screws underneath.

CAUTION: Heavy component.
Heavy components can lead to injury or damage.

Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.

Guide electrical machine electronics carefully out of the units compartment.
