Replacing the rubber window seal for the door window glass
NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
Preliminary works
- Remove rear door WEATHER STRIP .
- Remove the rear window FRAME TRIM .
- Remove rear door TRIM PANEL .
- Remove the rear inside of the window frame COVER .
- Remove rear door window frame TRIM .
Prerequisite
Door window glass is fully open.
- Pull out the rubber window seal (1) from the window guide rails.
- Remove rubber window seal (1) from window frame (2) and leave to hang downwards.
- Lever out the cover (1) and remove.
- Release the rubber window seal (3) from the mountings (2).
- Remove the rubber window seal (3).
- Replace the rubber window seal.
- Treat the rubber window seal (3) with a suitable lubricant.
- Position the rubber window seal (3) roughly on the door.
- Connect the rubber window seal (3) to the door.
- Insert the rubber window seal mountings (2) in the door.
- Make sure that the rubber window seal mountings (3) are fully inserted.
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Latch mechanisms, guides and mounting elements must not be damaged or missing.

- Check the cover (1) for damage and replace if necessary.
- Mount the cover (1).
- Insert rubber window seal (1) into the window guide rails.
- Secure rubber window seal (1) on the window frame (2).
Follow-up Work
- Install rear door window frame TRIM .
- Install rear door TRIM PANEL .
- Install the rear inside of the window frame COVER .
- Install the rear window FRAME TRIM .
- Install rear door WEATHER STRIP .
