Installing door lock on rear door

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE, Damage caused by water ingress into the vehicle. Water ingress into the vehicle may result in damage to components, malfunctions and corrosion.

Ensure correct installation of the components.
Only use undamaged components.

Check the seal on the door lock for damage and replace if necessary.
Insert the door lock (1) into the door.
Attach the Bowden cable (3).
Connect connector (2).
Position the door lock (1) on the door.

Tighten the screws in the tightening sequence (1) - (2) - (3).

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Door lock to door
Screw	Tightening torque	8.8 Nm

For vehicles with the soft-close automatic equipment specification:
Connect connector (2).

Engage the Automatic Soft Close drive (1) in the latch mechanism.

Follow-up Work

Install the rear door MODULE CARRIER .
Install rear door TRIM PANEL .
Attach the door handle COVER .
Install the rear door WEATHER STRIP .
