Preliminary work
- Remove the rear left and right WHEELS .
- Remove the tank COVERS .
- Remove EXHAUST SYSTEM
- If installed: remove the torsion struts MOUNTING BLOCK .
- Remove the left and right camber control arm COVER .
- Remove the rear HEAT SHIELD .
- Release the rear axle differential PROP SHAFT .
- Disconnect the rear ride height sensor PLUG CONNECTION .
- Detach right and left CABLES .
- Disconnect the left and the right PLUG CONNECTIONS .
- If installed: release the CABLE .
- If installed: release the WIRING HARNESS .
- Release rear left and right BRAKE CALIPER .
- Prepare the SPECIAL TOOL .
- Position the SPECIAL TOOL on the rear axle support.
- Release the rear left and right wheel carrier spring strut SHOCK ABSORBER .
- Detach REAR AXLE
- Remove complete rear AXLE SUPPORT .
WARNING:
Car may slip off the vehicle hoist where components are supported.
Danger! Immobilization period-threatening injuries!

- Secure the vehicle hoist against lowering and lifting.
WARNING:
Car may slip off the vehicle hoist if the weight is distributed unevenly.

- Ensure there is a specific weight compensation on the car.
