Engine Temperature Control Actuator -N493-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to DRAIN THE COOLANT .

Audi A4/A5:

-- Lift the clamps -arrows-, remove and free up the coolant hoses.

-- Disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Remove the bolt -2- and remove the coolant expansion tank -3-.

Audi Q5 with High-Voltage System:

-- Remove the front left wheel spoiler. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .

-- Loosen the left and right screw-type clamp -1- and remove the air duct pipe from the charge air cooler.

Continuation for All Vehicles:

-- Remove the Throttle Valve Control Module -GX3-. Refer to Throttle Valve Control Module -GX3-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the coolant pump. Refer to COOLANT PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Lift the clamps -1, 2 and 3-, remove the coolant hoses (example illustration).

-- Disconnect the connector -arrow- for the Engine Temperature Control Actuator -N493-.

-- Remove the bolts -1 to 5-.

-- Take the Engine Temperature Control Actuator -N493- off the alignment pins and remove it from the engine oil cooler.
