Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247-, CHECKING
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Vehicle Diagnostic Tester
- Vehicle Diagnostic Tester - Test Adapter - 2+3 Pin: VAS5571
- Pressure Sensor Tester: VAS6394
- Protective Eyewear
- Safety Gloves
Procedure
- Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
-- Remove the Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247-. Refer to Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Instead of the Fuel Pressure Sensor Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247-, install the Adapter: VAS6394/3 and tighten to 27 Nm.
-- Remove the plug on the digital manometer and tighten the Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247- -2- in its position to the tightening specification.
-- Create a connection between the vehicle and the Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247- using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester - Test Adapter - 2+3 Pin: VAS5571 .
-- Switch on the ignition and select the function using the.
- Diagnostic-capable systems
- 0001 - Engine electronics, functions
- 0001 - Measured Values
- Fuel Pressure
- The current value is displayed in the display field, which the Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247- reports to the Engine/Motor Control Module.
-- Briefly press the button -A- once to turn on the Pressure Sensor Tester - Digital Manometer: VAS6394/1 .
- The Pressure Sensor Tester - Digital Manometer: VAS6394/1 should display 0 bar (0 psi).
-- On other displays press the -C- button once quickly to set it back to zero.
-- Connect the pressure line on the Pressure Sensor Tester - Digital Manometer : VAS6394/1 -item 1- to the Adapter: VAS6394/3 and tighten.
-- Start the engine.
-- Compare the pressure shown on the Digital Manometer: VAS6394/1 with the actual value in the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
- The pressures may have a maximum difference of 5 bar (72.52 psi).
-- If the difference is greater than 5 bar (72.52 psi), install a new Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247-.
-- Place a cloth underneath to catch leaking fuel.
The fuel system is under pressure.
Risk of injury from fuel spraying out.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Wear safety gloves.
- Reduce the pressure: place clean cloths around the connection point and carefully open the connection point.
-- Insert the new Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247- in the Pressure Sensor Tester - Digital Manometer: VAS6394/1 .
-- Repeat the test with the new Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247- and compare both values.
-- If the measured values do not match again, check the wire connection between the Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247- and the Engine/Motor Control Module. Refer to Wiring Diagram.
-- If the measured values now align, install the new Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247-. Refer to Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
