Coolant Pump, Removing And Installing, Vehicle Without High-Voltage System: Removing
All Except Audi Q7/Q8:
-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Audi Q7/Q8:
Refer to the appropriate service information.
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Drain the coolant. Refer to DRAIN THE COOLANT .
Audi A6/A7 with Particulate Filter:
-- Free up the wiring harness.
-- Lift the clamps -1 and 2-, remove and free up the coolant hoses.
-- Disconnect the connector -4- for the Engine Coolant Level Sensor -G32-.
-- Remove the bolt -3- and remove the coolant expansion tank.
Audi A6/A7/A8/Q7/Q8:
-- Lift the clamp -2- and remove the coolant hose.
Audi A6/A7:
-- Lift the clamp -1-, loosen the hose clamp -2- and remove the coolant hoses.
-- Unlock the catch in direction of -arrow A- and release in direction of -arrow B-, and remove the vacuum hose.
Audi A8:
-- Lift the clamp -1- and remove the coolant hose.
Audi Q7/Q8:
-- Remove the brake booster vacuum hose -arrow- from the plenum chamber bulkhead.
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Disconnect the connectors -2 to 5-.
Audi A6/A7:
-- Remove the bolt -1- and move the bracket -2- with the engine wiring harness to the side.
Audi A4/A5/A8/Q5/Q7/Q8:
-- Free up the engine wiring harness -1-.
-- Remove the bolt -arrow- and the bracket -2-.
Vehicle without Particulate Filter:
Courtesy of AUDI OF AMERICA, LLC-- Disconnect the connector -1- for the Oil Pressure Switch, Level 3 -F447- -2-.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the toothed belt guard.
Vehicles with a Particulate Filter:
-- Disconnect the connector -2- for the Oil Pressure Switch, Level 3 -F447-.
-- Free up the wiring harness -3-.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the toothed belt guard -1-.
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Remove the bolts -1 through 4-, and remove the coolant pump from the Engine Temperature Control Actuator -N493-.
-- Remove the toothed belt from the coolant pump.
