Removing the steering gear
NOTE:
DANGER High-voltage system. The high-voltage system operates on the basis of hazardous, electrical voltage and high currents. Mortal hazard through electric shock!
- All work on the high-voltage system may only be carried out by specially trained and technically experienced personnel.

Preliminary work
- Remove the front left and right WHEELS .
- Remove the front UNDERBODY PROTECTION or front thrust field.
- Remove the UNDERBODY PROTECTION of the steering gear and thrust field respectively.
- Release the front axle support ANTI-ROLL BAR
- If installed: loosen ACTIVE STABILIZER (additional work for ARS).
- Remove both TRACK END RODS
- Remove the steering gear UNIVERSAL JOINT .
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
In a warranty case, you must always provide a fault memory printout with the defective part, even if the fault memory does not contain an entry.
