Installing the radial shaft seal for the selector shaft (GA8HP50Z, GA8HP51Z, GA8HP75Z, GA8HP76Z, GA8HP75HZ, GA8HP95Z)

• Oil the sealing lip of the radial shaft seal.
• Drive the radial shaft seal to the stop using the special tool 0 494 208 (24 5 366)  and a plastic hammer.

• Slide the selector shaft (1)  in the direction of the arrow into the housing.

• Replace clamping sleeve (1)  .

  Parts:  Clamping sleeve

• Insert narrower end of clamping sleeve (1)  into bore.
• Using a suitable tool, drive in the clamping sleeve (1)  until the clamping sleeve (1)  is in line with the bore.

Follow-up work 

• Install the MECHATRONICS .
• Install the transmission OIL PAN  (GA8HP50Z, GA8HP51Z, GA8HP75Z, GA8HP76Z).
• Install AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION  (GA8HP50Z).
• Reconnect all battery GROUND LEADS .
• Check/top up the automatic transmission OIL LEVEL .
• If the active stabilizer is installed: install fan COWL .
• Fasten the (partially removed) PROP SHAFT
• Install the RETAINING PLATES .
• Install the HEAT SHIELDS .
• Install the complete EXHAUST SYSTEM .
• If installed: install the right and left TORSION STRUT where required.
• Install the tunnel connecting SUPPORTS .
• Install rear UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
• Install the transmission side UNDERBODY PLANKING .
• Activate the 48 v ELECTRICAL SYSTEM .
