Installing the centering for the propeller shaft
- Note the protrusion (A)
at the centering (1)
.
Protrusion (A) = 4+2 mm
- Remove grease or water from mount bore.
- Drive centering (1)
into the prop shaft using special tools 0 490 873 (11 2 350)
and 0 490 475 (00 5 500). When doing so, note the protrusion
.
- Apply a thin coat of grease to the soft centering (1)
, if necessary.
The hard centering (2) must not be greased.

Follow-up work
- Completely install the PROP SHAFT (plug-in - rear flexible disc).
- Install the RETAINING PLATES .
- Install transmission CROSS MEMBER .
- Install the HEAT SHIELDS .
- Install the complete EXHAUST SYSTEM .
- If installed: install the right, and on the left TORSION STRUT where required.
- Install the CONNECTING SUPPORTS on the tunnel.
- Install rear UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Install the UNDERBODY PLANKING of the transmission on the side.
