Removing headlining (with SA403 glass roof)
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE Electrostatic discharge. Damage to or destruction of electrical components.
- Leave electrical components in original packaging until just before they are installed. Use the original packaging only for any return shipments. Always package removed components straight away.
- Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
- Only touch the housings of electrical components. Do not touch pins or multipin connectors directly.
- Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

Preliminary works
- Remove the rear left engine compartment COVER
- Remove the rear right engine compartment COVER .
- Remove left and right WIPER ARM .
- Remove cowl panel COVER .
- Remove the left and right roof TRIM STRIP .
- Remove the left and right a-pillar TRIM PANEL .
- Remove left and right sun visor counter SUPPORTS .
- Remove the left and right SUN VISORS
- Remove both vanity mirror LIGHTS .
- Remove the right hands-free MICROPHONE .
- Remove the left hands-free MICROPHONE .
- Remove the roof FUNCTION CENTER (FZD).
- Remove the interior mirror COVERS .
- Remove the interior MIRROR .
- Remove the KAFAS camera with the integrated CONTROL UNIT .
- Disconnect the rain-light-solar-condensation sensor PLUG CONNECTION .
- Release front HEADLINING .
- Remove rear interior roof LIGHT .
- Partially remove top left and right b-pillar TRIM PANELS
- Remove both c-pillar TRIM PANELS
- Remove all GRAB HANDLES .
- Remove the WINDSCREEN .
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE Careless handling of tools and sharp-edged components. Scratch, surface damage.
- Protect working area.
- Handle tools and components carefully.

Perform window removal using the "spider".

Prerequisite
Slide/tilt sunroof cover is opened.
The front seats have been fully adjusted towards the bottom.
The front seat backrests have been fully adjusted towards the rear.
- Loosen screws (1).
- Unclip panel down (1) from the clips (2) and remove it.
- Loosen screw (1).
- Loosen the frame (1) at the clips (2).
- If necessary, loosen the cable clip from the frame (1).
- Loosen the frame (1) at the clips (2).
- Remove the headlining (1) from the edge protectors (2).
- Undo headlining from the side clips (1) using special tool 0 496 569 (00 9 325)
.
- Slide headlining towards the front and feed out from the clips (1).
- Remove the headlining through windscreen opening.
