Replace all connecting rod bearing shells

Engine damage caused by incorrectly installed bearing shells and bearing brackets.
If the bearing shells and bearing brackets are installed incorrectly, then engine damage can occur.

- Always install all bearing shells and bearing brackets in the same position from which they were removed.

Piston, piston pin, connecting rod and connecting rod bearing shells are matched to each other and balanced.
Always install the pistons, piston pins, connecting rods and connecting rod bearing shells in the cylinder from which they were removed.

- Feed the connecting rod bearing shell (2) out of the connecting rod (1) and remove it.
- Feed the connecting rod bearing shell (2) out of the connecting rod bearing cap (1) and remove it.
- Note the different equipment specifications of the connecting rod bearing shells (1) and (2).
- To avoid incorrect assembly: Observe marks (arrows).
Connecting rod bearing shell (1) and the connecting rod bearing shell (2) each have a fuse to prevent incorrect assembly.

- Replace the connecting rod bearing shell (2) and insert it in the connecting rod (1).

- Oil the connecting rod bearing shell (2).
- Replace the connecting rod bearing shell (2) and insert in the connecting rod bearing cap (1).

- Oil the connecting rod bearing shell (2).
- Vacuum the crack surfaces (1) with a conventional vacuum cleaner (2).
The crack surfaces (1) must not be blown off with compressed air.
