Engine - Cylinder Head - Repair (G30) (2 Of 4)
- 11 12 Cylinder Head With Lid
- 11 12 101 Replace cylinder head gasket (540i xDrive, 2021-2022)
- 11 12 105 Removing and installing the left cylinder head (M550i xDrive, 2018-2019)
- Removing the heat shield at cylinders 5 to 8
- Release the coolant pipe at the cylinder heads 5 to 8
- Loosening the screw of the slide rail
- Detach the coolant hoses on cylinder head 1 to 4 and 5 to 8
- Release the cylinder head bolts of the cylinders 5 to 8 at the timing case cover
- Preparing special tool 8.5 mm
- Unscrew cylinder head bolts for cylinders 5 to 8
- Attach the cylinder head 5 to 8 special tool
- Removing cylinder head 5 to 8 using lifting gear
- Disconnect the plug connection at cylinder head 5-8
- Lift cylinder head 5 to 8 with lifting device
- Position the tensioning rail and slide rail on the cylinder head (cylinder 5 to 8)
- Close oil bores on the crankcase 5 to 8
- Check the front fitting sleeve cylinders 1 to 4 and 5 to 8
- Check the rear fitting sleeve for cylinders 1 to 4 and 5 to 8
- Lay cylinder head gasket at cylinders 1 to 4 and 5 to 8
- Screwing the cylinder head bolts at cylinders 5 to 8
- Secure the cylinder head bolts of the cylinders 5 to 8 at the timing case cover
- Adjusting the timing at cylinders 5-8
- Secure the coolant pipe to cylinder head 5-8
- Installing connecting bracket to radiator
- Attaching cylinder head cover of cylinders 5 to 8
- Cylinder head cover screw connection cylinder 5 to 8 difficult to access
- 11 12 105 Removing and installing the left cylinder head (M550i xDrive, 2020-2022)
- 11 12 106 Removing and installing right cylinder head (M550i xDrive, 2018-2019)
- Removing the heat shield at the cylinders 1 to 4
- Preparing special tool 8.5 mm
- Preparing the special tool
- Installing the special tool for cylinder head 1-4
- Detach the coolant hoses on cylinder head 1 to 4 and 5 to 8
- Twist the intake camshaft by 180°
- Release the cylinder head bolt at the timing case cover
- Remove cylinder head cylinder 1 to 4
- Unscrew the bolt of the slide rail on the cylinder head (cylinders 1 to 4)
- Raise cylinder head 1 to 4 with lifting gear
- Lock for bores on crankcase 1-4
- Check the rear fitting sleeve for cylinders 1 to 4 and 5 to 8
- Check the front fitting sleeve cylinders 1 to 4 and 5 to 8
- Lay cylinder head gasket at cylinders 1 to 4 and 5 to 8
- Position the tensioning rail and the guide rail on the cylinder head (cylinders 1 to 4)
- Positioning cylinder heads 1-4 on the engine block
- Placing cylinder head for cylinders 1 to 4 on the engine block
- Fasten cylinder head of cylinders 1 to 4
- Fastening cylinder head bolts on timing case cover
- Turn the intake camshaft back by 180°
- Mounting the special tool on the processed surface of the camshaft
- 11 12 106 Removing and installing right cylinder head (M550i xDrive, 2020-2022)
- 11 12 108 Removing and installing/replacing oil filler neck (M550i xDrive, 2020-2022)
- 11 12 110 Replacing the left cylinder head gasket (M550i xDrive, 2020-2022)
